Ok......I'm not so good about updating this blog on a regular basis. It's already been 2 weeks since my last entry. I'll try and be better about entering things in!

A lot has happened since the last entry on the 25th.

The week of Jan 28-Feb 1st was Catholic Schools week for Katie, so she had pajama day, tropical dress up day, 50's day, and purple day. She had a great time dressing up that week. Thanks to Grandma Betty for helping me make her poodle skirt. I was able to put together the poodle, but as far as the sewing of the skirt, I left that up to Grandma Betty. It turned out so cute!

Katie had her first dance performance at the Mall of America. She and her team, the "Sugar Babies" did a great job. They were so adorable! Her next performance will be in March. Yes, I have to attend a "make-up" class this week just to ensure I know exactly what I'm doing. We also have to purchase a "make-up kit" for each costume so all the dancers look the same. Since Katie is not a big make-up fan, it should be interesting. She LOVES dance, so if the other girls put on the make-up for the performance, I'm sure she'll follow suit.

Madison has been doing great! She is just adorable and such a great baby. Since the last update we went in for a heart catheterization and open heart surgery. She had her 2nd of the 3 surgeries (the Glenn procedure) yesterday and is doing great so far. As I write this posting she is resting comfortably and Daddy is resting in the rocking chair next to her as well. It was a LONG day yesterday, but we are so happy and blessed that she is doing so well. The doctors said everything looks great so far and hopefully she will get the chest tubes and maybe the ventilater out tomorrow.

I have also included a few photos from a little "photo shoot" at our house by my friend Diana! Thanks Di for taking such great photos of Madison. Diana and I both LOVE our camera's and LOVE to take pictures. It's SO much fun. Actually we have Diana to thank for suggesting I set up this family blog as well. THANKS DI! It will definitely be something we always cherish.....I just have to remember to write updates on a regular basis!!!

Happy Friday!

Wow, it's hard to believe it's Friday. Katie is excited to go to school today because they get to go to the school book fair. She came home with her "wish list" yesterday and needless to say we had to scale it down. I don't remember having "stuffed animals" as an option when we were growing up. Isn't is suppose to be a "BOOK" sale? The "furry friend" obviously did not make the cut since she already has her share of stuffed animals.

She has settled into her new table after the big lunch move this week. She says that she now sits by the girls, but she still misses Anna.

Since it's FINALLY going to be above zero this weekend we will probably venture out to sell a few Girl Scout cookies. This is her first year of doing this, so she is pretty excited. Both sets of grandparents have already put in their orders.....thank you!

Madison is doing great. She is getting so strong. She is starting to really try and sit up in her little bouncy chair. She has a wonderful personality.......a very happy baby!

That's about it for today. Todd & I are going to meet some friends tonight, so it will be fun to catch up with everyone. Thank you Grandma Betty for babysitting!

Have a great weekend!

Having fun with Grandpa Mike!

Happy Wednesday!
Yes, I figured out how to add the pictures, so hopefully I'll be able to take a few new photos on daily basis. Here are a couple with Grandpa Mike! Grandpa left to go back to the Quad Cities yesterday, but Grandma Betty is still here! Thanks Grandma for staying with us.

Katie said she had a "Good" day and a "Bad" day at school yesterday. The bad news was that they had to switch lunch tables and she no longer was sitting by her good friend Anna. The good news was that they switched seats in Art class and now she sits by Anna. Yeah! The lunch move was a pretty big deal for her because she ended up having to sit by all boys because all the other seats were taken......not a real happy camper. She said the boys don't talk that much! (I'm sure in a few years she'll be more than happy to sit by the "boys"! ) Fortunately her friend Lauren is at her table, so hopefully she'll be able to sit by her today. Can you believe the issues 1st graders have to deal with?? :) I'll let you all know how today goes!

Have a great day everyone!

Welcome to our new family blog!

Today is the first official day of our family blog. I'm hoping to update this on a regular basis so you can see what's going on with our family. Grandma Betty & Grandpa Mike came to visit yesterday and Grandma Betty will be staying with us until Madison goes in for her heart catheterization on the 31st. Her next open heart surgery is scheduled for Friday, February 8th. Katie is back at school today after being home for MLK day. I'm going to try and get a few pictures added each day, but it might take a little while. Wish me luck! I'm not super computer savvy, but I'm hoping to figure it out!
